Do you offer one-night stays?2020-10-19T14:56:06+01:00

The minimum stay in all pods is two nights and we don’t offer one night stays.

Bank holidays are a minimum stay of three nights.

Summer 2021 (July 19th to September 6th):

Arrival days – Mondays and Fridays only

Midweek – Monday to Friday (four nights)
Weekend – Friday to Monday (three nights)

Stay for a week and your accommodation will be discounted automatically by 15%.

Unfortunately, although we love dogs and have our own, we cannot accept dogs due to the close proximity of the livestock on our dairy farm (and chickens on the site!).

Check-in is from 4pm. We ask that guests don’t arrive any earlier to give us time to prepare. Extra cleaning due to Covid-19 is very time consuming and we need to make sure that every pod is fully sanitised.

You’ll find your key in a key safe at your pod, which means you can arrive at any time. We’ll email you a key safe code three days before you arrive. (If you don’t get the email, please check your junk folder or let us know.)

What time do we need to vacate our pods?2020-05-10T20:33:18+01:00

We ask that you depart by 10am, so that we have time to prepare the pods for the next arrivals. The outbreak of coronavirus means that deep cleaning and sanitising takes a considerable time.

Just pop the key back into your key safe before you leave.

For our Green Top and Silver Top guests, there’s an option to check out an hour later (up to 11am). Add it as an extra for £10 if you’d like to leave late. This must be selected at the time of booking. (Not available over the Easter and school summer holidays.)

Unfortunately, late check-out isn’t available in our Gold Top pods due to the changeover time for the hot tubs.

Can I check-in early or check out late?2020-10-19T15:46:29+01:00

Note – Early check-ins and late check-outs are not currently available.

If you’re staying in a Green Top or Silver Top pod you can opt to check-in an hour earlier (from 3pm), or check-out an hour later (up to 11am) for an extra £10. This must be selected from the extras list at the time of booking.

We’re sorry, but early check-ins and late check-outs aren’t available in any of the pods during the Easter and school summer holidays.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to add these extras to our Gold Top pods, due to the changeover time needed for the hot tubs.

But wait! There’s the option to stay until 4pm on a Sunday afternoon – £20 for Green Top pods, £25 for Silver Top pods and £35 for Gold Top pods. This also needs to be selected as an extra during booking. (This isn’t available during the school summer holidays or bank holidays, as weekends are Friday to Monday.)

Can I secure my booking with a deposit?2020-09-20T10:32:54+01:00

Secure your booking with a 25% non-refundable deposit if your stay is more than six weeks away. The remaining balance must be paid in full six weeks before your stay. You’ll receive a payment link by email a few days before your balance is due.

Opt to pay the full balance up front if you’d prefer, or if you’re paying for your stay using a gift voucher.

For stays less than six weeks away, or if using a gift voucher, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Payments are made through our secure payment providers Stripe. Payments can be made with most major debit and credit cards – Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and you can also use Apple Pay.

It’s no problem to add extras after you’ve booked. Pick the extras that you’d like from the ‘Extras’ tab on the menu bar and email hello@peaksandpods.co.uk to let us know what you’d like to add.

We’ll email back to you to confirm that the extra/s are available and will add them to your booking. We’ll then send a link via email for you to make the additional payment.

Bookings may be cancelled up to six weeks before the start of your stay. We will only refund your deposit (minus a £50 admin fee) if your stay is re-booked.

Do we have to clean our pod before we leave?2019-11-18T19:52:57+00:00

We ask that guests leave their pod as clean and tidy as they find them. We supply everything you need to keep your pod clean during your stay. In the kitchen you’ll find washing-up liquid, sponge, microfibre cloth, washing-up brush, all-purpose spray and a dustpan and brush. In your bathroom cupboard you’ll find a range of products including bathroom spray, toilet cleaner and a cloth. We also keep an electric sweeper and long sweeping brush in the Little Laundry for clean-ups. We ask that guests empty their rubbish into the large bins at The Hub, wash-up, wipe down their sinks and leave their pods in good order.

We ask guests to clean their pods before they leave as it is respectful and helps us to keep them in tip-top condition. We may make a charge without prior notification for pods left in an unclean state.

Do I need to pay a security deposit?2019-11-18T19:56:13+00:00

We only take a security deposit for pods booked as part of a whole site or a group booking. Contact us directly for more information.

The security deposit is authorised on the booking card at midnight on the day of arrival and funds will be ‘reserved’ on the card. It will be fully refunded at the end of your stay if there are no damages, breakages or additional cleaning required.

In all pods we expect guests to leave pods and shower rooms as clean and tidy as you found them. You’ll find cleaning products to enable you to leave your pod in great condition. Please note – a charge may be made for pods found to be unclean. We leave an inventory in each pod and breakages from your kitchenette (glasses, plates, mugs etc) must be paid for by leaving cash in the envelope in your Welcome Folder. Please let us know if you damage anything more serious.

NOTE – We are currently not taking any group bookings for 2020 or 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Normally (pre-Covid-19) we offer group stays of either three or five pods by prior arrangement. Prices are different for group stays.

Exclusive site bookings are available for up to 20 guests, and bookings for three pods accommodate up to 12 guests. We do not take group bookings of four pods and ALL group bookings must be pre-arranged with Peaks and Pods. Any group bookings made without prior arrangement will be cancelled.

We don’t take group bookings on Bank Holidays or during the school summer or Easter holidays. Unfortunately, we are unable to take stag parties or hen weekends.

All our pods have their own kitchenette with microwave, hot running water and sink, fridge with icebox, two-ring hob, kettle, toaster and Tassimo coffee machine. We provide plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, cutlery, tin opener, peeler, scissors, bottle/wine opener, frying pan, saucepan with lid, microwave saucepan, jug, spatula, knives, chopping boards, wooden spoon, cooking tongs and a whisk.

There’s a starter pack of tea, coffee, Tassimo pods and sugar in each pod.

The pods have curtains and blackout blinds, fly screen door, wall heater, LED lighting inside and out, power and USB sockets, and free WiFi.

All our pods have their own private, flagged outside space to the side of the pod, an outdoor dining table with four chairs, a small wooden decked area in front of the pod and twin boot storage on the deck.

You’ll also find a couple of foldaway deck chairs for you to use on the deck stored in a large weather-proof box on your patio area. Firewood or charcoal should be stored in the special large metal-lidded box on your patio. (Boots can also be stored in here in very wet weather.)

There’s a fire bowl on each patio with a poker and grill. Wood and kindling for your first fire is included. It costs £10 for a trug refill. If you’d like to use your fire pit as a barbecue, we sell complete packs onsite for £10 (including tools) and only use carefully chosen fuel and fire lighting equipment.

Note – Guests are not allowed to use their own wood, charcoal or fire-lighting equipment.

Our wonderful Gold Top Pods are packed with lots of features to make your stay thoroughly enjoyable – most importantly our lovely, private hot tubs. The pods include an ensuite shower room with enclosed shower, small basin, toilet, heated shower rail and bundle of towels (2x bath towels and 2x hand towels). 

There’s a double bed with pocket-sprung mattress and the bed made up ready for your arrival. There’s also a generous double sofa bed (with bedding stowed away under the arm when booked for more than two guests), folding wooden table and chairs. Gold Top pods also have a sun umbrella and base (stored in a box on the patio).

You’ll also find a wall-mounted Smart TV in each pod, with access to Netflix.

Our super Silver Top Pod has loads of features to make your stay even more enjoyable, including an ensuite shower room with enclosed shower, small basin, toilet, heated shower rail and a towel bundle (2x bath towels and 2x hand towels).

There’s a double bed with pocket-sprung mattress, complete with luxury feather and down bedding made up for your arrival. There’s also a generous double sofa bed (with bedding stowed away under the arm when booked for more than two guests), folding wooden table and chairs.

Our gorgeous Green Top Pods include a wooden double bed with pocket-sprung mattress, topped with designer bedding (Orla Kiely or Joules) ready for your arrival.

There’s also a Yorkshire-made small double sofa bed with memory foam mattress, supplied with extra bedding for the sofa bed when booked for more than two guests.

Guests in our Green Top Pods have their own private shower rooms, each less than 20 steps away, with key code access. The shower rooms contain an enclosed shower, toilet, basin, mirror, shaving point, heated towel rail and towel bundle (2x bath towels and 2x hand towels). The shower rooms have electric showers, so unlimited hot water. They’re so close to the pods that you can happily nip there in your PJs!

Green Top pods have a wall-mounted Smart TV/DVD player, with access to Netflix.

Gold and Silver Top Pods sleep four comfortably on the double bed and generous double sofa bed.

Important note – It is not possible to fit either a cot or another bed into Gold and Silver Top pods when the sofa bed is pulled out.

Green Top Pods have a double bed and a small double (4ft wide) sofa bed. The small double bed is most suitable for two small children, rather than two adults.

Green Top pods have enough floor space to fit an inflatable ReadyBed (for age 18 months+), even when the sofa bed is in use. We have two sizes of ReadyBed available for hire.

All of our pods have wall-mounted Smart TVs. We have a full TV licence and Netflix access.

We offer free Wifi and USB plug sockets, so you can also watch TV from your devices.

We usually have pretty excellent mobile signal from Peaks and Pods, so getting in touch with your nearest and dearest (or your boss!) shouldn’t be too hard.

Are flying insects a problem in the summer?2019-08-28T22:14:03+01:00

All of our pod doors are fitted with retractable fly screens that simply pull across and fasten with a magnet. This means that you can sit in your pod with the doors wide open and know that flies, wasps and midges can’t get in. We also provide swatters in summer and use wasp traps and fly tape at The Hub during the warmest months.

There’s the Little Laundry at The Hub where guests can wash, dry and iron their clothes.

The large washing machine costs £2 to run a full cycle (including detergent and conditioner), and the tumble dryer costs £1 for every half hour. The coin machine only takes £1 coins.

The iron must be used in the Little Laundry only.

What should we do if we lose, break or damage something?2019-09-29T13:42:56+01:00

Guests will find an inventory when they arrive at their pod. Items that are missing, broken, damaged or melted during your stay must be paid for and the inventory gives the replacement cost of each item. Cash to replace items should be left in an envelope provided in the pod, or via Paypal to hello@peaksandpods.co.uk. We will make a charge to the booking card for all items not paid for, without giving prior notice.

Please let us know if anything more serious than inventory items are broken or damaged.

There’s free WiFi to each pod and to The Hub. The WiFi password is displayed in each pod. (We’ll always do what we can to keep WiFi connected to Peaks and Pods, but there may be occasions when it doesn’t work.)

Our car park area is next to the pod site, with access to the pods just a short walk through a pedestrian gate. Each pod has its own sign-posted parking space so you know just where to leave your car.

Corn Bents has its own pedestrian access and car parking space due to its position on site.

Unfortunately, we do not allow extra visitors on site – only our Peaks and Pods guests. It’s important for the comfort and security of all our guests.

Can I arrive on public transport?2020-10-19T15:20:43+01:00

Peaks and Pods is 2.5 miles from the nearest bus stop (Rathmell or Tosside) and 4 miles from the nearest train station (Giggleswick). It’s 5 miles to Settle Station.

Guests can arrange transport to Peaks and Pods by contacting a private hire firm (also detailed in ‘Places to Go’) for the last few miles of their journey.

Lots of guests come here to relax and don’t mind staying put, but please be aware that Peaks and Pods is in a rural area – five miles from the nearest town, and there is no public transport past the site.

The pods have a kitchenette with a small two-ring hob, which may be used for preparing light meals. Each pod also has a microwave. We provide one frying pan and one saucepan.

Next to your kitchen you’ll find a switch for an extractor fan to help you to get rid of nasty niffs.

We have fire bowls on each patio that may be used with our £10 barbecue charcoal packs. The fire bowls have a barbecue grill and poker. Charcoal packs contain a box of matches, eco-friendly firelighters, kindling, quality charcoal briquettes and metal tongs. They can be bought from the display rack at The Hub at any time.

Your own charcoal or disposable barbecues are strictly not permitted.

We also have a wood-fired oven at The Hub that can be hired for £10. The cost includes fire lighting equipment, logs, a pizza paddle, oven mitt, pizza wheel and chopping board. Guests love to cook pizzas in the oven, but it’s also great for other food too. (Bring your own metal trays though.) The oven can either be hired in advance or on arrival, if it’s not already booked.

You’ll find a cast-iron fire bowl on your patio, complete with metal grill and poker. Wood and kindling for your first fire is included. Trug refills cost £10.

Your own firewood and fire-lighting equipment are strictly not permitted. (We carefully choose our fuel to burn and supply eco-friendly firelighters.)

Campfires on the grass or deck are not allowed.

We’re close to Gisburn Forest and on the doorstep of lots of wonderful country rides so offer facilities for cyclists, including secure cycle storage, bike wash and laundry. Repair stands are also available.

We have planned a range of rides from Peaks and Pods, each with a refreshment stop, suitable for all levels of ability. Email us for details.

Yes, we have a covered area at The Hub away from the pods where our stunning wood-fired pizza oven is situated, perfect for those carefree evenings with superb views. There’s seating, tables and chairs and festoon lighting in the sheltered area. There’s also the option of a group fire pit with sleeper benches made from upcycled tractor wheel rims for nights together at The Hub. There are also coin-operated wall-mounted patio heaters and blankets to keep off the chill. 

It costs £10 per night to hire the wood-fired pizza oven. That includes fire lighting equipment, logs, heat proof mitt, a pizza paddle, pizza wheel and chopping board. Guests love to cook pizzas in there, but it’s also great for other food. (Bring your own metal trays though for anything other than pizza.) The oven can either be hired in advance or on arrival, if it’s not already booked.

Does Peaks and Pods stay open all year?2018-10-30T19:45:27+00:00

We are open every month of the year, with a couple of weeks off around Christmas. Our pods are designed for all weather conditions – they’re heated, insulated and very cosy, no matter what the weather.

Rarely, if wintry weather conditions are extreme, the water supply to some or all of the pods may freeze, despite precautions to prevent this. We will do our best to restore the water, but in extreme conditions we may need to cancel your stay. If we cancel, we will offer to refund your stay (or part of your stay), or give you the choice of an alternative date.

What do you do to reduce your carbon footprint?2018-07-03T11:30:00+01:00

Good question! There are many ways we try to be environmentally friendly, and we are constantly working towards being more sustainable. Importantly, we produce our own electricity with our 50kWh wind turbine and 30kWh solar panels, which provide electricity for both our dairy farm and Peaks and Pods. We use LED lighting, our outside lights are on sensors, and we encourage thoughtful waste recycling. We offer facilities to recharge both electric bikes and electric cars. We don’t use chemicals in our hot tubs and we only use eco-friendly cleaning products in all our pods and shower rooms. We hold Green Tourism’s Gold Award for our commitment to sustainability and responsible tourism.

We ask that you are respectful of the other people staying on site and ask that guests keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 7am (which means no loud noises outside). We ask that no music be played outdoors at any time (as we don’t all share the same taste in music, and some people might just want a bit of peace and quiet).

Can I book a taxi to Peaks and Pods?2020-10-19T15:37:00+01:00

There are a number of private hire companies that operate in the Settle/Rathmell area. Any journeys need to be arranged in advance by phoning ahead. You won’t be able to book them on the spur of the moment.

Can I smoke on site?2018-01-17T21:18:33+00:00

Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited inside the pods and on your outside area. There is a designated smoking spot next to The Hub. An ashtray (a cow water bowl) is mounted to a wooden pillar next to the sheltered area. There’s also an ashtray (cow bowl) mounted on a gatepost near the pedestrian entrance, which is closer to the pods but is not sheltered. Cigarette butts must be disposed of carefully and must NOT be left on your patio area or surrounding grass or gravel. Please respect our rules on this.

NOTE – We are currently not taking any whole-site or group bookings for 2020 or 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Yes! We understand how wonderful it is to have a place to yourself and Peaks and Pods is the perfect destination for groups of families or friends. Please contact us directly before booking, either by email or phone, to discuss your group’s specific requirements. We’ll do our best to make it a perfect stay!

Please note that we don’t accept group bookings for four pods – it’s less relaxing for the group and also for the guests in the single pod.

We don’t have an electric car charging point yet, but guests with electric cars are able to charge them from a plug at The Hub. There’s a £5 charge for recharging (payable on site). Just let us know and we’ll arrange it with you on arrival.
