What’s special about Two Acre Bit and Buckhaw Brow?2024-01-24T18:15:43+00:00

Our gorgeous pods Two Acre Bit and Buckhaw Brow both have their own private, covered hot tubs on the patio, complete with LED lights and jets.

The pods have a wooden double bed with pocket-sprung mattress, topped with designer bedding (Orla Kiely or Joules) ready for your arrival. There’s also a Yorkshire-made small double sofa bed with memory foam mattress, supplied with extra bedding for the sofa bed when booked for more than two guests (over the age of 2).

Guests in these pods have their own private shower rooms, each less than 20 steps away, with key code access. The shower rooms contain an enclosed shower, toilet, basin, mirror, shaving point, heated towel rail and towel bundle (2x bath towels and 2x hand towels). The shower rooms have electric showers, so unlimited hot water. They’re so close to the pods that you can happily nip there in your PJs!

Both pods have a wall-mounted Smart TV player with access to Netflix.

Is Peaks and Pods open all year?2024-01-24T18:33:05+00:00

We are open every month of the year, with a couple of few weeks off around Christmas but open again for the New Year. Our pods are designed for all weather conditions – they’re heated, insulated and very cosy, no matter what the weather.

Rarely, if wintry weather conditions are extreme, the water supply to some or all of the pods may freeze, despite precautions to prevent this. We will do our best to restore the water, but in extreme conditions we may need to cancel your stay. If we have to cancel, we will offer to refund your stay (or part of your stay).

Can we book the whole site?2024-01-24T18:41:26+00:00

We understand how wonderful it is to have a place to yourself and Peaks and Pods is the perfect destination for groups of families or friends. Please contact us directly before booking, either by email or phone, to discuss your group’s specific requirements. We’ll do our best to make it a perfect stay!

Please note that we don’t accept group bookings for four pods – it’s less relaxing for the group and also for the guests in the single pod.

Arriving

What time can I check in?2024-01-18T15:42:02+00:00

Check-in is from 4pm. We ask that guests do not arrive any earlier to give us time to prepare. (The car park is used by our staff before 4pm.)

We’ll email you a key safe code three days before you arrive. (If you don’t get the email, please check your junk folder or let us know.)

You’ll find your key in the wall-mounted key safe at your pod.

Can I check-in early or check out late?2024-01-18T17:03:26+00:00

You can opt to check-in an hour earlier (from 3pm), or check-out an hour later (up to 11am) for an extra £10. This must be selected from the extras list at the time of booking and paid in advance.

If you’re leaving on a Sunday, you can opt to leave any time up to 4pm. Select the extra at the time of booking. (This cannot be booked for any other day except Sunday.)

Important notes:

If you add the early arrival extra, the water in your hot tub may not be up to full temperature at the time you arrive.

If you add the late departure, you may not be able to use the hot tub after 10am. We need to empty the water at 10am to give us time to change the water and reheat.

Where can we park?2024-01-24T18:24:23+00:00

Our car park area is next to the pod site, with access to the pods just a short walk through a pedestrian gate. Each pod has its own sign-posted parking space so you know just where to leave your car.

Corn Bents has its own pedestrian access and car parking space due to its position on site.

Can I arrive on public transport?2024-01-24T18:25:54+00:00

Peaks and Pods isn’t easily accessible by public transport. We’re situated on a farm in a rural area, four miles from the nearest train station and 2.5 miles from the nearest bus stop. (Buses run very infrequently.)

The nearest train stations are Giggleswick (4 miles) and Settle (5 miles) and the nearest bus stops are in Rathmell and Tosside, each 2.5 miles away.

Guests can arrange transport to Peaks and Pods by contacting a private hire firm (also detailed in ‘Places to Go’) for the last few miles of their journey. Please note – the cost of a journey from Settle to Peaks and Pods can be very expensive – please check the cost before you book the service.

To find out more, Click the ‘Offsite Fun’ tab on our website, then ‘Places to Go‘.

Lots of guests come here to relax and don’t mind staying put, but please be aware that Peaks and Pods is five miles from the nearest town, and there is no public transport past the site. Guests coming without a car need to bring plenty of provisions for their stay.

Departing

What time do we need to leave our pod?2024-01-18T16:59:02+00:00

(Note: If you’ve booked a two-night stay (Friday to Sunday) BEFORE September 15th 2023, your stay includes a late check out up to 4pm. Weekend stays booked after September 15th do not include a late Sunday check-out.)

It costs £15 to hire our new gas-fired Gozney ‘Dome’ pizza oven. The cost includes exclusive hire of the oven, fuel, heat proof mitts, pizza paddle, pizza wheel/rocker and chopping board. Dos and Don’ts

What should we do if we damage, break or lose something?2024-01-24T18:22:57+00:00

Guests will find an inventory when they arrive at their pod. Items that are missing, broken, damaged or melted during your stay must be paid for and the inventory gives the replacement cost of each item. Cash to replace items should be left in an envelope provided in the pod, or via Paypal to hello@peaksandpods.co.uk.

We will take the cost of the items from any security deposit, or we will request payment for the cost of items not paid for (by sending a payment link).

Please let us know if anything more serious than inventory items are broken or damaged.

Guests should take extra care when using the hot tubs and hot tub lids, as a charge will be made for any damages.

Can our friends come?2024-01-24T18:25:00+00:00

Unfortunately, we do not allow extra visitors on site – only our Peaks and Pods guests. It’s important for the comfort and security of all our guests.

Is there a noise restriction?2024-01-24T18:35:14+00:00

We ask that guests are respectful of other people on site and we ask noise is kept to a minimum after 10pm. We also ask that no music be played outside the pods at any time for the comfort of all our guests.

Can I smoke on site?2024-01-24T18:40:52+00:00

Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited inside the pods and on your outside area.

There are two designated smoking spots on site.

  • An ashtray (a cow water bowl) is mounted to a wooden pillar near the fire pit at the sheltered area.
  • An ashtray (a cow bowl) is mounted on a gatepost near the pedestrian entrance, which is closer to the pods but is not sheltered.

Cigarette ends must be disposed of carefully and must NOT be left on your patio area or surrounding grass or gravel. Please respect our rules on this.

If we have to remove cigarette ends from in or around your pod, or if your pod smells of cigarette smoke when you leave, we will deduct a £40 cleaning fee from your security deposit.

Important note – It is not possible to fit either a cot or another bed into these pods when the sofa bed is pulled out.

Two Acre Bit and Buckhaw Brow each have a double bed and a small double (4ft wide) sofa bed. The small double bed is most suitable for two children, rather than two adults.

These pods have enough floor space to fit an inflatable ReadyBed (available for hire).

Are flying insects a problem in the summer?2024-01-24T18:20:39+00:00

Pod doors are fitted with retractable fly screens that simply pull across and fasten with a magnet. We also provide swatters in summer and use wasp traps and fly tape at The Hub during the warmest months.

Is there a laundry?2024-01-24T18:21:30+00:00

There’s the Little Laundry at The Hub where guests can wash, dry and iron their clothes.

There’s a large washing machine, tumble dryer, drying rack, iron and ironing board. Detergent and conditioner is available.

We also have the Dome – a gas-fired pizza oven at The Hub that can be hired for £15. The cost includes fuel, a pizza peels, oven mitts, pizza wheel and chopping board. Select pizza oven hire as an extra when you book – we’ll send you an information email before you arrive.
