Peaks and Pods is 2.5 miles from the nearest bus stop and 4 miles from the nearest train station. Click the ‘Offsite Fun’ tab on our website, then ‘Places to Go’, to find out more about the services. Guests can walk to Peaks and Pods or can arrange transport by contacting a private hire firm (also detailed in ‘Places to Go’) for the last few miles of their journey.
Check-in is from 3pm. We ask that guests don’t arrive any earlier to give us time to prepare for our arrivals.
There’s also an option to check-in an hour earlier (from 2pm). Add it as an extra for £8 if you’d like to arrive earlier than 3pm – this must be selected at the time of booking.
You’ll find your key in a key safe at your pod, which means you can arrive at any time up to 10pm. We’ll email you a key safe code three days before you arrive. (If you don’t get the email, check your junk folder.)
We ask that you depart by 10.30am, so that we have time to prepare the pods for the next arrivals.
You can opt to check-in an hour earlier (from 2pm), or check-out an hour later (up to 11.30am) for an extra £8. These optional extras must be selected from the extras list at the time of booking.
There’s also now the option to stay until 4pm on a Sunday afternoon – £20 for Green Top pods, £25 for Silver Top pods and £40 for Gold Top pods (includes wood for hot tub). This also needs to be selected as an extra during booking.
Yes, bookings need to be paid in full at the time of booking. Extras bought on site need to be paid for in cash at the time of purchase.
We accept most major debit and credit cards – Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and you can also use Apple Pay.
We do not offer refunds for cancellations or no-shows, and we strongly advise you to take out the appropriate travel insurance so you can have peace of mind that your costs will be covered, should you need to cancel your stay for any reason.
We don’t ask for a security deposit but we expect you to leave your pod (and shower room) as clean and tidy as you find them. You’ll find cleaning products to enable you to leave your pod in great condition before you leave. Please note – charges will be made for pods found uncleaned. Breakages from your kitchenette (glasses, plates, mugs etc) need to be paid for using the breakages envelope in your welcome folder. Please let us know if you damage anything more serious.
Yes we do, although we are quite selective about the groups we take for the comfort of all our guests. Please contact us before you make a group booking. Unfortunately, we are unable to take Stag Parties or Hen Nights. We offer a package for exclusive use of the site – contact us for details.
Unfortunately, although we love dogs and have our own, we cannot accept dogs due to the close proximity of the livestock on our dairy farm.
All our pods have their own kitchenette with microwave, hot running water and sink, fridge with icebox, small ceramic hob, kettle and toaster. There’s a double bed with pocket-sprung mattress, protector and base sheet and a generous double sofa bed with protector and base sheet. Just bring your own duvets and pillows for the beds, or hire a bedding bundle for £12 each bed if you want to travel light.
The pod also contains a folding wooden table and four chairs.

You’re responsible for your shower room throughout your stay. Towels aren’t included but can be hired as an extra for £8 per bundle. The pods also have a folding wooden table and four chairs.
Green Top pods are the only pods with a TV/DVD player. There’s a small selection of family DVDs to borrow in the Little Laundry at The Hub, or bring your own.
Our Gold and Silver Top Pods sleep four comfortably on the double bed and generous double sofa bed, and our Green Top Pods have a double bed and a small double (4ft wide) sofa bed. We also have a good selection of children’s ReadyBeds for 18m+ if you would prefer, available for hire.

We don’t have TVs in the other pods, but we do supply a good selection of board games for great family bonding. Feel free to bring other electrical equipment, as there are power sockets and a double USB socket in all the pods.
We have a full TV licence so you can watch live TV from your devices.
We usually have pretty excellent mobile signal from Peaks and Pods, so getting in touch with your nearest and dearest (or your boss!) shouldn’t be too hard.
We have the Little Laundry at The Hub where guests can wash, dry and iron their clothes. The washing machine costs £2 to run a full cycle (including washing liquid), and the tumble dryer costs £1 for every half hour. The coin machine takes 50p and £1 coins. The iron must be used in the Little Laundry only.
At the moment we’re too far from the telephone exchange to get proper broadband, and we can only get broadband through a Wi-Fi device using a mobile signal. If you can’t cope without Wi-Fi you can hire a mobile device to use in your pod for £10, but data will be limited to 1GB and you won’t be able to go mad on Netflix. You need to pre-order it so we can make sure it’s all ready to go.
Our car park area is next to the pod site, with access to the pods just a short walk through a pedestrian gate. Each pod has its own sign-posted parking space so you know just where to leave your car.
Corn Bents has its own pedestrian access and car parking space due to its position on site.
Unfortunately, we do not allow extra visitors on site – only our Peaks and Pods guests. It’s important for the comfort and security of all our guests.
We’re delighted that our Gold Top Pods – Holly Bush Hill and Corn Bents – have their own Finnish wood-fired hot tub. The tub is freshly filled for all new arrivals (no chemicals are used) and you can bask in gorgeous hot water, resting your aching muscles. We offer a pre-arrival tub fire lighting service for £15 to enable you to climb in as soon as you arrive.
The pods have a kitchenette with a small two-ring ceramic hob, which may be used for preparing light bites, but is not designed for cooking big meals. Each pod also has a microwave. Next to your kitchen you’ll find a switch for an extractor fan to help you to get rid of nasty niffs. Bear in mind that the kitchenettes must be left as clean as you found them. During busier times we offer frozen home-cooked meals to cook in your microwave – details are on the blackboard at The Hub.
Yes, we have large fire bowls on each patio that may be used with our £12 barbecue charcoal packs. The packs contain matches, natural firelighters, kindling, quality charcoal and tongs. They can be ordered in advance or bought from The Hub when you arrive (and the money left in the Honesty Box). Your own charcoal is strictly not permitted.
We also have a wood-fired oven at The Hub that can be hired for £20 per night (exclusive to your group). That includes fire lighting equipment, logs, a pizza paddle, heat-proof glove and pizza wheel. Guests – particularly groups – love to cook pizzas in the oven, but it’s also great for other food. (Bring your own metal trays though.) The oven can either be hired in advance or on arrival, if it’s not already booked.
Our large fire bowls may be used as fire pits with our £15 fire pit packs, purchased in advance or on-site. The bowls have a poker and metal spark guard. The fire pit packs contain matches, eco-friendly fire lighters, kindling, pack of logs, marshmallows and skewers. Campfires on the grass or deck are not allowed.
The packs can be ordered in advance or bought from The Hub when you arrive (leave the money in the Honesty Box). Your own fire wood is strictly not permitted.
We’re so close to Gisburn Forest and on the doorstep of lots of wonderful country rides that we decided to offer lots of facilities for cyclists, including secure cycle storage, bike wash and maintenance area with repair stands. We have planned a range of rides from Peaks and Pods, each with a refreshment stop, suitable for all levels of ability.
Yes, we have a covered area at The Hub away from the pods where our stunning wood-fired pizza oven is situated, perfect for those carefree evenings with superb views. There’s seating, tables and chairs in the sheltered area, and the option of a fire pit made from upcycled tractor wheel rims for nights together at The Hub.
It costs £12 per night to hire the wood-fired pizza oven. That includes fire lighting equipment, logs, a pizza paddle and heat-proof glove. Guests love to cook pizzas in there, but it’s also great for other food. (Bring your own metal trays though for anything other than pizza.) The oven can either be hired in advance or on arrival, if it’s not already booked.
Good question! There are many ways we try to be environmentally friendly, and we are constantly working towards being more sustainable. Importantly, we produce our own electricity with our 50kWh wind turbine and 30kWh solar panels, which provide electricity for both our dairy farm and Peaks and Pods. We use LED lighting, our outside lights are on sensors, and we encourage thoughtful waste recycling. We offer facilities to recharge both electric bikes and electric cars. We don’t use chemicals in our hot tubs and we only use eco-friendly cleaning products in all our pods and shower rooms.
We ask that you are respectful of the other people staying on site and ask that guests adhere to our noise curfew of 10pm – 7am (which means no loud voices outside!) We ask that no music be played outdoors at any time (as we don’t all share the same taste in music, and some people might just want a bit of peace and quiet).
There are a number of private hire companies that operate in the Settle/Rathmell area. Any journeys need to be arranged in advance by phoning ahead. You won’t be able to book them on the spur of the moment.

Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited inside the pods and on your outside area. There is a designated smoking spot next to The Hub. An ashtray (a cow water bowl) is mounted to a wooden pillar next to the sheltered area. There’s also an ashtray (cow bowl) mounted on a gatepost near the pedestrian entrance, which is closer to the pods but is not sheltered. Cigarette butts must be disposed of carefully and must NOT be left on your patio area or surrounding grass or gravel. Please respect our rules on this.
Yes! We understand how wonderful it is to have a place to yourself and Peaks and Pods is the perfect destination for groups of families or friends. Please contact us directly before booking, either by email or phone, to discuss your group’s specific requirements. We’ll do our best to make it a perfect stay!
We don’t have an electric car charging point yet, but guests with electric cars are able to charge them from a plug at The Hub. There’s a £5 charge for recharging (payable on site). Just let us know and we’ll arrange it with you on arrival.
